Karen's Doodles - Silver & Gold

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Monday, December 13, 2010 4 stamps of approval
Happy Monday and time for another fun Karen's Doodles challenge!

This week, we are asking you to make a card using Karen's Doodles and the colors
Silver and Gold

I've made a Christmas card using the Oh-So-Fun Christmas Moose image!  Now, I had to giggle while I was making this card, because I finished it up right after my hubby and I had finished hanging all the lights on the house!  And, so I was looking at this little moose, all tangled up in lights, thinking of my hubby.. all tangled up in lights!  Hehhehe!

As always, there are prizes to be won at Karen's Doodles!  But, you have to play to win!

Hope to see you join us this week!

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:

A Spoonful of Sugar - Christmas Cards
Stamp Something - Digi Day
The Crafty Pad - Embossing
Totally Gorjuss - Snow
Digital Tuesday - Baby, it's cold outside

Karen's Doodles Challenge #36

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Monday, November 08, 2010 7 stamps of approval
It's time for another fun challenge at Karen's Doodles!

This week, we challenge you to make a Christmas card using only Black and White!  Of course, you may use other colors on your image, but not anywhere else!!

This challenge is harder than it sounds!!  I really wanted to do a bright red ribbon and some red rhinestones... and I wanted to highlight the embossing by coloring some of those ornaments... but, I like this card, it really makes Bigsby stand out and the card really is all about him, isn't it?

I hope you get to play along this week!!

I've used the sketch at Stamp Something this week for their challenge.

Meljen's Designs - Challenge #9

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Wednesday, May 26, 2010 4 stamps of approval
Hi!

I hope you can join us at Meljen's Thursday Challenge this week!!

Melissa has a very special New Release to share with you this week!  This release is also very special to me.  It's called "In Loving Memory" and was created with Memorial Day in mind.  There are images here to remember our families, our friends and our soldiers.  We have flowers, dog tags, doves, ribbons and even a few adorable angel animals.

I have created a card using an image that really jumped out at me in the release.  When Melissa asked the team for ideas, I suggested a Stars & Stripes ribbon, and when I saw what she created, I was just in awe!  I couldn't have imagined anything better and I am so thrilled to have this image in my collection!

Our challenge for you this week is "Silver and Gold" - that's open to your interpretation, so go have some fun!

Oh!  And, if you are interested in any of the new release images or any other images in the shop, they will be on sale all weekend in honor of Memorial Day!  10% off each and every stamp in the shop!  So, pull out that wish list, and start shopping!

Here's my card - using shimmery silver paper:

A few more challenges for this one as well:
Freshly Brewed: Red, White & Blue

Circles!

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Sunday, May 16, 2010 2 stamps of approval
I got to spend the weekend at my parents house across the state and had such a good time!
Mom and I worked on a card idea that she had for her monthly stamping get-together and I think it turned out so cute!
She was checking out my blog the other day, and hopped over to Mercy's blog to find this cool tutorial about using a plastic canvas circle as a template for paper piercing circles.. such a GREAT idea!  Thanks, Mercy!  So, we used Mercy's tutorial and we "cased" her card to create a fun birthday card!  Mom will be sharing this card idea and new technique with her stamping girlfriends at their next meeting.
Mom was also excited to unpack her new Cuttlebug and use her new Nesties for the first time!
I'm going to toss this card into the hat at Stamp Something for their Celebrate Something challenge this week.
All Supplies are from Mom's Stash!

Did you know that April 25th is "World Penguin Day?" Well...what are we waiting for? Let's celebrate!  Create a card or project that reminds us of a penguin. You can do this by using an image of a penguin or simply by creating a card or project that is made with the colors black and white.
Be creative!

We have 2 sponsors for you this week:
Our Very Own, Paula:

I had some fun browsing The Daily Dare today, can you tell?  :)

Ok, on to my card!

Some of our Design Team used the color inspiration and some used penguins - either way is fine, whichever you prefer!  I chose to use penguins, although I struggled to find a cute penguin image that wasn't too Christmassy... Thankfully, my Mom found me some stamps while she was out shopping and they worked perfectly!
Here's my Penguin creation for you:

Stamps: Studio G Clear Stamps
Markers: Copics
Papers: from my scrap pile

A Very Special Thank You

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Tuesday, March 09, 2010 6 stamps of approval
This card is for the surgeon who helped us at the hospital last weekend with Emily.  For those that don't know, she had appendicitis and we had to quickly get her into surgery to have her appendix removed.  For a 5 year old who has never had any health concerns other than a cold, this was a lot to take in!  She was very brave and is recovering amazingly well.  She has a follow up appointment with the surgeon tomorrow afternoon and I wanted to make him a card to thank him.  He was very gentle with her and he explained everything to her and us before he did anything.  He was very friendly and compassionate and I really appreciate having him there to help us through all the decisions that had to be made.  It was a scary time for all of us and I'm thankful that we had such an understanding and caring Doctor by our side.

I'm entering this card into:
Dare You 2 Digi: Pearls (and digi)

What'd I Use?
Image: Meljen's Designs (Digi)
Markers: Copics
Sentiment: Unknown stamp
Nestie: Labels Four
Papers: Daisy Bucket
Pearls: Martha Stewart
Ribbon: from my stash

Challenge Saturday

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Saturday, February 20, 2010 12 stamps of approval
Evening All!

Just wanted to share a couple of challenge cards with you -
Here's Number One:  I think I hit a record amount of challenges with this card!  It started with Farm Fresh Friday, which is a color combo.  An interesting combo, but I really like the result!  Anyone For Anya and Totally Gorjuss want to see flowers, so there's flowers in the patterned paper & in Anya's hair.  Stamp Something wants to ring in Spring and I chose to use colors that I think are springy, especially the Guava.  The Pink Elephant wants to see ribbon.  And, Stampin' For The Weekend provided me with a fun sketch!

For challenges:
Farm Fresh Friday - Colors: Chocolate, Kraft, Guava
Anyone For Anya - Flower Power
Totally Gorjuss - Flower Power
Stamp Something - Touch of Spring (or spring colors)
inside detail:
What'd I Use?
Image: The Greeting Farm "Hippie Anya"
Markers: Copics
Kraft paper: My Mind's Eye
Guava paper: Core'dinations
Patterned paper: Daisy Bucket
Nesties: Oval & Scallop Oval
Build-A-Brad
Ribbon: from my stash
It was hard to keep simple and not add layers and embellies and "stuff" to this card, but it was fun and I like the way it turned out!  It will make a nice quick card for those birthdays that always seem to sneak up on me!

Pals Paper Arts - K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple, Sweetie)

Embossing: Cuttlebug "Happy Birthday"

Stamp Something Sketch

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Saturday, January 09, 2010 1 stamps of approval
I'm so glad that I got some stamping time today!!  This is my THIRD post for tonight, so be sure to scroll down to see the birthday cards that I made for Bradley and Emily.

This card is made for the sketch at Stamp Something.  My Best Friends birthday is coming up, so I think I might send this one to her.. unless I make something else before then!  :)

I used Tempting Turquoise cardstock (I think that's the right color) and the rest of the papers are all out of my scrap pile.  The flowers are from the dollar section at Target from last summer, I think.  The images are all from Unity.  I colored them with Copics and Glitter pens.  I'm not exactly thrilled with my coloring, though.
Other than the flowers, I stuck pretty much to the sketch.  I added the flowers because I thought it just needed something more.

I haven't decided if I like this card or not... which is why I might make another card for my best friends birthday.....

Thanks for stopping by!
