SSC #22 - Scallop Mania

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Sunday, August 30, 2009 10 stamps of approval
Hello Stamping Friends!!

I'm pretty excited about this project, because it's the first thing I've done in what feels like weeks!! No kidding! There has been so much going on around here that I haven't had any time at all to sequester myself in my craft room and play! And I've missed it! I had about 1/2 an hour to myself this evening and I decided to go downstairs to my room and see what I could do, even if it was just clean things up a bit.. but once I got my hands on paper and stamps, there was no stopping me! I'm so excited, because now I can feel the mojo flowing and I am ready to get back to stamping everyday! Too bad I have to work all weekend... oh well, gotta pay for the stamps somehow, right?

Anywhoo.... onto the card! This weeks challenge at Stamptacular Sunday Challenge is Scallops, Scallops, Scallops! I think I met that requirement.. maybe.. although I wonder if I should have put a few more scallops on there... hmmm...

This is my brand new Halloween Anya/Ian set from The Greeting Farm (Looooove it!) and the new Scallop Octagon Nesties that I got for my birthday from my in-laws (Thanks!!) Add some rub on's, some pearls and some fuzzy spiders and "viola!" - cuteness! This is actually an envelope card that I am hoping a candy bar will fit in. I've used a magnet fastener under the scallops to hold it closed.

Well, there it is! I sure hope you like it and I hope that I've inspired you to go grab your scallops and create something wonderful for our challenge this week!

Thanks for stopping by! And don't forget to visit the rest of the awesome design team and see how they've used scallops this week! Priscilla, Nikki, Liza, Line, Kristin, Janneke, Jilly, Joanne, Carly, and Paula

Just a quick Hello!

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Wednesday, August 26, 2009 0 stamps of approval

Hi guys! I noticed that a friend had searched through her stamps and came up with what she considered her favorite... wow...! That had to be a hard decision!

I decided to do the same with my collection... although it grows and grows, almost daily! Usually my favorite stamp is the one I just got, even if I haven't used it yet... but I thought I should look for the stamp that I use most often... the one that I think is most "me", if you know what I mean..

So, I have decided that my favorite stamp is this one...:
valentini
This is Valentini, by Stamping Bella... I've used this stamp alot and here's why...

1. I love anything Martini... from the drink to the image. The shape of a martini glass is just cool, and you can put so much awesome stuff in it! And a good martini, mixed well and enjoyed with friends is the best!
2. This image is so much fun to color! I've done it in red and pink and purple.. it just lends itself to so many fun colors!
3. I love glitter, and this image just screams "glitter me!!!"

It's just an awesome image and if I had to choose a favorite, this would be it... although I did eye all of my cupcake stamps, too... but that's another post! LOL!

Have a wonderful day!

The sentiment is punched with the Stampin' Up! word window punch.

SSC #20 - Beary Special

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Sunday, August 16, 2009 7 stamps of approval
Another hot week in the Tri-Cities! I could complain about the heat, but you know, I'll be complaining about the snow in just a few months, too!! I hope the weather is treating all of you nicely!
Anyways... our challenge for you this week is "Beary Special" so you can make anything you want! Anything at all.... as long as it has a BEAR on it somewhere! Our Stamptacular Design Team has some pretty adorable little bears to share with you! Line, Carly, Joanne, Kristin, Janneke, Liza, Jilly, Nikki, Paula and Priscilla
And... here's mine!

This is just a cute little milk bottle that I had saved. I covered it with some Stampin' Up! DSP. I don't know who the bear is or where he came from, he was in my image box, so whoever sent him to me - Thank You! I added some more patterned paper and some pearls along the bottom. Wrapped the ribbon around the top, added a little tag and filled her up with some yummy Lemon Heads! Hope it makes someone feel better... although I don't know anyone who's sick! Still cute, though.... at least I think so!

Congratulations Kim and Julia

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Saturday, August 08, 2009 5 stamps of approval
Today is a very special day.

Today is all about my best friend, Kim and her true love Julia.

Today they will commit their love to each other in a beautiful ceremony with friends and family.

Today is the beginning of their life together as one.

This event has been planned and scheduled and talked about for what seems like forever! In a good way, as everyone involved is so very excited for this day to finally be here!

I will stand with Kim, as her witness and Maid of Honor as she commits herself to love, honor and cherish Julia forever. Sweet Emily will be beautiful in her flower girl dress, and hopefully on her very best princess behavior! :)

Here is the card that I have created especially for Kim and Julia.

The ceremony is a beach theme, as both Kim and Julia love the beach and visit as often as they can every year. So, I went with a beach theme for my card as well. I chose this stamp especially for this card, as I wanted something a little less "traditional wedding". This House Mouse stamp is just so sweet, they look so in love and enjoying nothing more than each others company in the light of the moon on a warm sandy beach. This is what I hope for Kim and Julia's future. The background paper is a jumble of beachy words and the tan cardstock has a woodgrain effect, to give the idea of driftwood. I stitched the edges of the DP and the cardstock, and added the pearls and the flowers for dimension. I really wanted this card to be spectacular for them, and I sure hope that they like it.

Kim, I love you, my dear and I wish you nothing but the best for your years together with Julia. It gives me joy to see you so happy and I know that Julia will support you and be your rock in whatever you endeavor. The only advice I have for you, is to always be nice and remember that if you don't listen to anyone else, listen to Julia, she knows you best, loves you most and would never steer you wrong.

Congratulations to you both!

House Mouse & Friends Challenge #49

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Wednesday, August 05, 2009 3 stamps of approval
Ah, I should have left well enough alone when my Mojo wasn't flowing for my previous card... but who can resist a House Mouse, right?

The challenge this week (well, month, as they are on Summer break) is Back To School. I was just talking to Emily this morning about how school is starting again soon and she'll be back in class with her friends and her teachers. I don't think she quite understood what I was saying, but she'll figure it out when I drop her off on the first day! hehehe!

So, I decided, since my House Mouse collection is still a bit limited, I would make my sweet little Emily a bookmark using one of my smaller House Mouse stamps. I love this stamp! And I hope Emily loves her bookmark!Yea, it's pretty simple.. I think she'll like it though.

Whisper White cardstock, Studio G alphabet letters. House Mouse image colored with Copics and Stampin' Up! markers. Green Galore ink sponged on edges. Fiskars Victorian deco corner rounder. Fiber from my stash, leftover from my other card today.

Mojo Monday #98

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Wednesday, August 05, 2009 1 stamps of approval
Hello Mojo Monday! (Ah, it's Wednesday, isn't it...?)

Awesome sketch this week, it looked pretty simple, until I sat down to work on it...This is what I came up with. Beautiful Day Fairy Ariana from Paper Make-Up stamps with her adorable little froggie! I just love this image and I was so excited to finally get her on a card, since I've had her for months!

But... I don't think this card quite does her justice. Ah well... it's a Mojo Monday sketch, even if my Mojo isn't flowing today!

DP from my stash, Green Galore cardstock from Stampin' Up!, fibers from my stash. Image colored with Copics and Sakura glitter pens. Peony Nestabilites.

SSC #18 - Child's Play

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Sunday, August 02, 2009 7 stamps of approval
Hello, friends! It's my favorite time of week again! Time to share another fun Stamptacular challenge with you!

This week is for the kids! We would like to see your projects that are created with a child in mind!

Be sure to visit each of the Design Team blogs to see the fun, colorful projects that they've created to share with you! Line, Carly, Joanne, Kristin, Janneke, Liza, Jilly, Nikki, Paula and Priscilla!

I saw this idea at the Paperzone when I went to Seattle to visit my best friend a few weeks ago and I just loved it! I had to buy myself a puzzle piece punch so that I could recreate it myself! I used my favorite Paperzone sparkley paper, of course to add lots of shine! I really had a lot of fun making this card! I hope you like it as much as I do!
