I made today's card from scraps that were laying on my desk after making this custom order notebook for a customer:

I love the papers in this collection and I was excited to use them again to make this card:

Create from the Heart

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 3 stamps of approval
I have a friend who comes over about once a month to use my craft room to work on her scrapbooks.  It's a great time for me to just sit and color and chat!  So, last week while she was here, I colored up this beautiful Saturated Canary image.  Wow, that's a lot of hair!  I really had no idea what to do with it all, since I'm not all that confident in my hair coloring.  But, I think she looks pretty hot!  Haha!

image: Saturated Canary, Color Me Wonderful

So, I wanted her to be the highlight of the card, so I tried not to use too much color.  I embossed the background and used one of my Copics to color the edges instead of matting on colored paper.  Then, I thought maybe some ribbon and sparkle would add a nice finishing touch.  Needed a sentiment that went with her markers and between the 2 I had picked out, my daughter liked this one best.

Simple Thanks

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 4 stamps of approval
I can't believe Thanksgiving is next week... where did the month go?  Seriously, where did the YEAR go??

So many things have happened this year, and although the last few months have been incredibly depressing with the passing of my Dad, I still have so much to be thankful for.

Shortly after my Dad passed, my neighbors brought over a homemade apple pie.  It was so sweet of them and the pie was delicious.  I did give them a thank you card at the time, but I thought of them as I made this simple card this afternoon.

Halloween Window

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Friday, October 26, 2012 6 stamps of approval
Happy Friday!

Here's a Halloween card that I made while visiting my Mom last weekend.  I wanted to try out this window idea that I'd seen around and I think it turned out pretty cool.  It was pretty easy, too!

Images from Stampin' Up

I had bought a necklace for my daughter and it was a bit long, so I cut it down and saved the extra chain.  I decided to use it on the card and I love the way it looks!

Sending this one off to my brother for Halloween, hope he likes it!  He was "helping" me with a card at Mom's house a few weeks ago and giving me a hard time about white space!  I kept trying to put more stuff on my card and he kept telling me to leave it alone!  The card turned out pretty great, though, with his help!  I'll have to get that one posted soon, too!

Thanks for visiting!

Sweet Witchy Kitty

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 6 stamps of approval
Hello!  It feels good to be blogging again!

Here's another fun Halloween card that I made recently.  This one uses a cute new(er) Meljen's Designs image "Witchy Cat".  I still have TONS of leftover black burlap from a wreath project last Halloween, and I'm having a lot of fun using little bits of it on my cards.

Hocus Pocus

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 3 stamps of approval
Hi there!  Well, it's been a long time since I've posted anything and I've had a very rough month.  I've still been crafting and making cards, I just haven't had a chance to get back onto the blog and leave photos for you to enjoy!  Let's see if I can get back on track with that, ok?

I'm going to start with one of my favorite Halloween cards that I've made (so far)!  I love Halloween and I always seem to make more cards than I need at this time of year!  Too bad I can't do that with my Christmas cards, eh?  LOL!!

There's a whole lot of Halloween challenges going on right now, of course, and I'm excited to enter a few of them today.

This wonderful image is from Saturated Canary and I think she just rocks with her skates and pigtails!  Love her hands, too!

Halloween Zombie

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Saturday, September 15, 2012 4 stamps of approval
I'm still at Mom and Dad's while Dad recovers and now that he is out of the hospital and resting at home, I have a little bit of time to use my Mom's craft table to get a little crafting done.  I colored this image up the other day while Mom and I watched P.S. I Love You on dvd.  When I was all done coloring her, I thought she needed a moon, so I punched a circle out of a post it note and used the negative as a stencil to "dot" a moon.  Then, I thought of using the same "dot" technique to add a walkway for her and her little zombie pup.  I think it turned out fantastic!  This is one of my favorite cards!

Oh, and Mom, if you notice that your bat punch is missing when I go home, I know nothing about it!  LOL!!

I'm entering this one into the challenge at Saturated Canary - B's
I used "B"ats, "B"oo, "B"lack

Better Get Better, Dad!

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Friday, September 14, 2012 0 stamps of approval
As I mentioned, I am visiting with Mom and Dad, while Dad recovers from surgery.

Here is the card I made to give to Dad when I got here last week.

I dressed up my Stampin' Up! owl punch to look like a friendly nurse.  He really had wonderful nursing care at the hospital, it made his stay there so much more pleasant!

Meljen's Scrap It Challenges

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Friday, September 14, 2012 2 stamps of approval
Hi there!

It's been a while since I've posted, but it's been a busy couple of weeks.  I've been with my Dad while he recovers from surgery and haven't had much computer or crafting time.  Spending time with my Dad, though, makes up for the time that I've lost on my favorite hobbies!

Here, I have an ATC that I made before I left to come be with Dad, using scraps for the Scrap It challenge at Meljen's Designs this week.

I love using scraps to make ATC's - and this one was perfect with the new(er) image "Shaken Not Stirred" and the martini paper!  Also, punched out some fun martini glasses from a punch that my Mom had gotten me so very long ago!  Emily said that I needed some flowers, so those went on there last.  :)

I hope you get a chance to join us in our challenge this week, just use some scraps and have some fun!

Challenges that I'm excited to enter:
Scrap-Creations - Pick 3 (Ribbon, Glitter, Die Cut)

Dee

Happy Labor Day, everyone!

I've been enjoying the day in my craft room... and I got some cards finished!  Yay!

I made this one for the Saturated Canary challenge, which is Dotty

Here's a special note from the Saturated Canary blog that I wanted to share with you as well, about this challenge:

ALSO!!  Yesterday there was a blog hop for Jen Scull.  I had planned to be in the hop and then all day I thought it was August 28th.  (I will forever be a day late...and yes, a dollar short:).  I was really looking forward to the hop, and I missed it:(. The day was used to promote these stamps-- the proceeds all go to this lovely woman and her family.  I can honestly say that very few people have encouraged my heart like this dear crafter.  Her grace and faith are such a treasure in this crafty world.

**For every entry into this challenge (up to 500, which is a really high number-- but I thought I should set a ceiling here:), Saturated Canary will donate $1 to Susan G Kolmen for the Cure in Jen's honor.  Spread the word and let's get lots of entries!!**

-Krista, Saturated Canary

So, come on and enter the challenge - support the cure!

Meljen's Designs New Release!

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Saturday, September 01, 2012 1 stamps of approval
Hiya!

There were SO many new images added to the Meljen's Designs Shop yesterday!!

Including THIS one!

I was asked to make a card for a friend who needed something for her daughter to give to her dentist.  Well, I had a hard time finding just the *right* image, so I asked Melissa if she could draw something up for me - and she DID!

I made this card in record time!  From the email from Melissa, to the printer, to the craftroom, finished and photographed in about 30 minutes!  I was so excited to have the perfect image, the card just came together almost by itself!  I love when that happens!

The rest of the images - and there are a lot of them!! - are here:

SUPER CUTE, right??  I'm ready to start making some Halloween cards now, how about you?

Hugs,
Dee

Sadly, this will be my last post with the Card Makin' Mamas Design Team.  I've been awfully busy lately and just haven't had the time I would like to participate, so I have had to bid farewell to my friends on the blog.  I'll be in touch, of course!

The challenge theme is Hearts and I've tried to put as many hearts on my card as I possible could!

Isn't she sweet?

Don't let my leaving stop you from playing in the challenge at Card Makin' Mamas!  Now, we'll be playing along together, as I will try to enter the challenges as often as I can!

I made a few ATC's at Mom's house this weekend.. this is one of my favorites

I've been saving the tags off of new clothes for quite a while, thinking they would be great for cards and ATC's - I finally used this one from my jeans!  I also got to use my new Eiffel Tower die cut from MFT, it's the perfect size for ATC's!

Welcome to my CRAFTROOM!

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 2 stamps of approval

It's my Design Team Day at Meljen's Designs and I am kicking off the month with a video tour of my CRAFTROOM!

My 7-year old daughter Emily, helped me out with this video, too!

When we moved into our house, this room was a theater room and it was painted in a dark maroon on all 4 walls.  My in-laws came over for a few weeks and offered to paint for me, since I had just given birth to my son.  They painted the exact colors that I wanted and I love the happy feeling I get when I'm crafting in my messy space!

My craftroom is almost always an utter mess and I decided to video tape it in all it's messy glory!  It has occasionally been clean, but where's the fun in that?

What in this messy room would I be completely lost without??  Well..
My Cuttlebug!

My little "Bug Desk" isn't quite this neat today, as you saw in the video, my marker case is on the floor!  But, I love this little table to hold my 'bug and other things that I always have to have handy.  Notice the Nesties on the magnet strip?  My Nesties are so important to my crafting and in that little white box is my glitter gel pens, I use those a lot too!  Kleenex... I have seriously bad allergies, so I can never be more than arms reach from a box of kleenex!

I hope you enjoy a little walk through my creative world and I look forward to seeing more crafty spaces from the rest of our team throughout the month!

Hugs,
Dee

A Little Birdie...

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Thursday, June 07, 2012 4 stamps of approval
I haven't a lot of time lately or any mojo either, which bums me out, but I did manage to get a card done this week.  I'm hoping that this sparks my mojo enough to help me make the time to get some more crafting done!

I didn't make this card with any themes or challenges in mind, I just saw the birdcage sitting on my newly cleaned craft desk near a pile of Saturated Canary images and thought I'd see if I had an image printed that would go with the birdcage.  This little beauty was a perfect fit!

Now that my card is done, I can find some challenges to enter it into... like the current Saturated Canary Anything Goes challenge!  :)
