SSC $56 - Sew Special!

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Sunday, April 25, 2010 3 stamps of approval

Our challenge for you this week is called "Sew Special"!  We want to see stitches - either real or faux, however much or little you like!

Our sponsor this week is Simon Says Stamp!
They are generously offering our random winner:
PRIZE: $25 Gift Certificate plus FREE shipping!

This week I had an idea in my head and it worked out pretty well, for the most part.  I really wanted to crank up my sewing machine and put real zigzag stitching all over this card... but I realized at the last minute that I didn't have any dark brown thread!  Sigh... oh well, I had some rub-on stitches that were close in color to what I wanted, so they will have to do!  I hope you like it, and I hope it isnpires you to Sew Something Special this week, too!
What'd I Use?
Image: Hanglar (I believe)
Markers: Copics & Sakura Glitter Gel pens
Nesties: Labels Ten, Classic Ovals

And, while we're talking about the awesome new Meljen's Designs Shop - don't forget that today is the first day of the week long Customer Appreciation Sale!  25% off each and every stamp in the shop!  Including the new "Stuffed With Love" release!

There are some 3-D elements on this card - the image itself is popped up on pop dots, there's rhinestones in the corner and of course, my cute little chipboard lion!

This adorable lion image was a freebie to the members of Meljen's Paper Craft Planet group and he was so much fun to color!  He's just soooo darn cute!  Love him!
Hope you like my card!  I'm really pleased with how it turned out!
And, don't forget to post your creation to our challenge!  We'd love to see your work!

Be creative!

We have 2 sponsors for you this week:
Our Very Own, Paula:

Winner's choice of 8 images

I'm entering this cute card into the following challenges this week:

I had some fun browsing The Daily Dare today, can you tell?  :)

Ok, on to my card!

Some of our Design Team used the color inspiration and some used penguins - either way is fine, whichever you prefer!  I chose to use penguins, although I struggled to find a cute penguin image that wasn't too Christmassy... Thankfully, my Mom found me some stamps while she was out shopping and they worked perfectly!
Here's my Penguin creation for you:

Stamps: Studio G Clear Stamps
Markers: Copics
Papers: from my scrap pile

2. I'll be shopping for a new tshirt this weekend when Hubby and I go to Forks to be total Twilight Fans!

4. A Welcome sign for my front door
5. My poor puppy gets cold when we go out for nighttime potty walks!
(almost even looks like my pup, except Perry's black with a long tail)
