I've been busy!

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Thursday, November 27, 2008 0 stamps of approval
So, I got a few hours to hang out in my craft room and do some Stampin'!

This was for a challenge in the Card Makin' Mama's group over at CafeMom - the challenge is called The Twisted Thoughtful Thursday Three Pack (Really, Razz - where DO you find these names??) We had to make 3 cards that follow a specific sketch and say Thinking Of You... but the twist is that they all have to be different!

And these are just some snowman cards I made to share at the Cute Critters Club group over at CafeMom! They are having a contest to see how many Christmas cards can get posted.. the person with the most posts wins... I'm nowhere close!

And this was inspired by Cassandra (MamaCass) - she made a beautiful recipe book and since I just found the one I lost about a year ago, I thought I'd make it special, so that hopefully I won't lose it again!! I just realized that I haven't finished coloring her! Oops! No worries, I'll finish it tonight!

Christmas Cookie Recipe Swap!

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Wednesday, November 26, 2008 0 stamps of approval
I made these for a swap in the Advanced Swaps Non-Stop group on CafeMom! This is a recipe for my favorite cookie! It is called Peanut Butter Crunchies! They are tas-tee!
I believe if you click on the second picture, it will enlarge it, so you can actually read the recipe! If you try them, let me know how they turn out - I sure like them!

Happy Thanksgiving to all!

It will be a quiet on in the Morris house as we had our big feast a few weeks ago when my parents came to visit. We have been invited to a friends house for appetizers and cocktails in the afternoon, but we will see how this cold I picked up treats me tomorrow!
I hope that everyone has a wonderful day with family and friends enjoying traditions and making memories.
I also hope that we all take a moment (or two) to remember what we are thankful for.

I am thankful for:

- My family
- My friends
- My freedom

Have a piece of pie for me, I can never have enough pumpkin pie!

Finished Beach Projects

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Wednesday, November 26, 2008 0 stamps of approval
Hi! My wonderful new friend, Paulette (who is an absolute WIZ with a sewing machine) took my fabric postcards home from our beach trip in October to finish them for me! She's just the sweetest! And she's such a busy gal (with her cruise to Mexico and swimming with the dolphins and all!) But, she got the cards finished for me and mailed them to me! I was so excited to find them in my mailbox yesterday! So, since I'm in a fabric mood (I'm going back to paper soon, I promise!) I thought I'd post them here and share with you! Hope you likey!

Thank You, Callie!

WoW - I got a blog award from my dear, sweet, wonderful friend, Callie - check out her wonderful creations and beautiful family here

This blog invests and believes the PROXIMITY- nearness in space, time, and relationships! These blogs are exceedingly charming; and these kind bloggers, aim to find friends and to be friends. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please, give more attention to these writers! Deliver this award to eight bloggers, who must choose eight more, and include this cleverly written text into the body of their award.

I love that this award is aimed at friends and friendships! So, my 8 awards go to some of my best online friends, although we have yet to meet in person, I count you among my most loved friends! And, I'll award a few to some who probably don't even know how often I visit their blogs, but the beauty and inspiration I find there is always uplifting!

(I apologize if I duplicate the award - we are a relatively small creative circle! And if I could give it back to Callie, I would!)

Feelin' Fabricy!

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Monday, November 24, 2008 3 stamps of approval
So, I was playing with fabric instead of paper today - although I did use paper flowers!

I made this for my Secret Bella Santa Sister in the Addicted 2 Bellas group over at CafeMom (I may be giving myself away, but at least she won't know who she is until she opens the box!!) I just couldn't resist sharing with everyone!

This is one of those french ribbon bulletin boards (I think that's what they're called!) It uses an art canvas, fabric and ribbon - so cute! I've made a few of these before, both Emily & Bradley have one in their rooms, and I made one for my Mom! I love them and they are so fun and easy to make! This one is quite a bit smaller than I usually make, because I have to fit it in a box and mail it away... somewhere! So, I hope she likes it!!

I wish that I had some small red rhinestones for his nose, but I didn't have any, and didn't have time to run out and find some. Maybe next time!

Show Your Colors

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Monday, November 10, 2008 1 stamps of approval
It's Veterans Day.
Although I remember our Soldiers every day of the year, today is the day set aside to fly your flag and honor all those who have served.
According to Wikipedia, there are 29.4 MILLION Veterans in the United States. That is a lot of soldiers who have served to protect our freedom.
So, remember, Thank your Veterans - today and every day, where would you be without them?

Thank You for your service!
We appreciate you!

Grandpa's Glasses

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Monday, November 10, 2008 0 stamps of approval
Nana & Grandpa came to visit this weekend for an early Thanksgiving family get-together! Grandpa bought his toolkit to put together a new bed for Emily and do a few "Handy-Dad" things for me! (Thanks, Dad!) The kids found Grandpa's safety glasses in his tool bag and thought they were so much fun to play with! And Grandpa isn't one to pass up a photo opportunity!!

And, a picture of me and the kids!

And, as mentioned, Emily got a new bed! We have retired her Princess toddler bed and she has a big girl twin size daybed! When did she grow up??

My little artist...

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Thursday, November 06, 2008 0 stamps of approval
Emily made this for me at preschool the other day.. I don't know what it is about it, but I LOVE it! I want to frame it and hang it in her room, so I can see it all the time. She told me that it has hearts and butterflies, and it's shiny and pretty! Oh, and the pink pompom.. she knows everything I like! I love it! Thank you, Emily!

Halloween Photos

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Saturday, November 01, 2008 1 stamps of approval
I hope that everyone had a wonderful Halloween!

We went out in the afternoon to get Halloween portraits done of the kids in their costumes.. unfortunately we won't have those back for 2 weeks! But they turned out cute!!

We took the kids to Ranch & Home, they had booths from local business set up in the parking lot that were handing out candy in the parking lot. They also had bouncy houses and the police and fire depts were there iwth their lights flashing for the kids! It was dark, so the photos I took out there didn't turn out well.

Then we took them to the mall to see all the other kids dressed up and collect more candy and stickers. Emily even got a coupon for a free kids meal at Applebees! I found this sparkly pattern on a corner of the Sunglass Hut booth, and just had to take a photo of Emily in front of it!

After all the trick or treating, because Emily was SUCH a good girl, we took her to the wanna-be Build-a-Bear store (we don't have a real Build-a-Bear here, but something similar) and let her make her own teddy bear! She loved that and hasn't let go of that bear since!

Little Darth Vader was relaxin' in his stroller watching all the excitement. He can't wait for next year when he can run after his big sister and get his own candy!

Then, I wanted just one decent photo of the two of them together, so when we got to the car, we sat them both on the hood, under the street light and I got a photo of them.

Darth Vader had so much fun watching big sister that he was wiped by the time we got home!
