Lil' Lolita Meets Mojo Monday

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 7 stamps of approval
Happy Tuesday!!

I have just a quick post today to share this card with you!  I made a whole bunch more stuff today, but I have to wait to show you those!!  You'll have to check out I Love Digi and Meljen's Thursday Challenge on Thursday and Stamptacular Sunday to see what I worked on today!

Here's a card that I made to play along with the Lil' Lolita challenge and the Mojo Monday sketch this week.  The Lil' Lolita challenge is to use a photo of a beautiful wedding cake as inspiration.  So, I picked up on the soft pink of the roses and the brown from the ribbon.

Nothing Like A Good Book...

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Monday, June 14, 2010 2 stamps of approval
I love to read, for those "die-hard" blog fans of mine, you've seen my ever-updating list of books I've read this year towards the bottom of my sidebar... it's there, somewhere!! LOL!  I listen to a lot of audiobooks, but I also love to sit down with a good book and enjoy the smell of the pages and the quiet reading time.  I don't get to do that very much anymore... I can never seem to find any quiet time!  I did just pick up the Columbine book.  I'm eager to read it, I've gotten through the first chapter, but just haven't found any time to pick it up again in the past week!  I love all kinds of books, from the true stuff, like Columbine, to fiction, to sci-fi and fantasy.  I just recently read Level 26 - WOW!  Amazing book - for you serial killer, psycho-creep, vicious crazy fans out there - this one comes highly recommended!  I also just read an oldie by Jodi Piccoult, Plain Truth.  I love Jodi's books, as they always give an insight into another world that I have yet to visit.  This one takes you deep into the Amish country and I learned a lot about their beliefs and way of life, it was fascinating!  Her newest one, House Rules, was also very, very good!
So - moving on... this isn't really a post about my reading habits, just thought I'd explain why I like this stamp so much!  And, if you like it too, you can get if from ME!  It's an {ippity} stamp set, and you can purchase it from my website here!  It's only $6 and would be a great addition to any book readers stamp collection!  I see "This Book Belongs To:" labels coming up soon!
Ok, ok, onto the card!
This one follows the sketch at Mojo Monday this week :)

UR Tweet

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Wednesday, June 09, 2010 1 stamps of approval
I made this card using this weeks Mojo Monday sketch.  I really love how it turned out!
I flipped the sketch a bit, because I wanted the scallops on the top to look like clouds, somewhat :)
I even used some red felt as my matting pieces, you can't tell in the photo, but it adds awesome texture!  And, my Nesties cut through it with no problem!

Hope you like!

Meljen's on Monday!

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Monday, May 03, 2010 6 stamps of approval
Have you joined us at Meljen's Thursday Challenge yet this week??
The challenge is to create a Shaped Card! No Squares or rectangles allowed!  And your prize is 3 images of your choice from the Meljen's Shop!

I decided to play along and try another Easel card.  These are so fun and simple!  I just had to make it a shape!  So, I used my Scallop Octagon Nesties and came up with this card
which fits the 3-D challenge at A Spoon Full of Sugar
and the color challenge (Red, Yellow & Green) at Paper Sundaes
the Inside Out challenge at KL Stampin' and Scrappin
Shaped card at C.R.A.F.T.
Which, I guess in looks a little square... but... wait for it...
Now it's an octagon!  :o)  With a square base!  Hey, I tried!

What'd I Use?
Image: Meljen's Designs "Lots of Love Octopus"
Markers: Copics
Nesties: Octagons & Scallop Octagons
Heart Brads: from my stash
Patterned papers: from my scrap pile

I also had this little darling colored up from the same NEW Meljen's Sea Critters release, so I made this quick card -
which fits the sketch at Mojo this week
and the Friendship theme at Saturday Challenge:

Sentiment: {ippity} "Just Wanted To Say"

Mojo #120 - Bradley's Birthday

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Saturday, January 09, 2010 0 stamps of approval
I can't believe that my little guy will be 2 on Monday!  Where did the time go?

We'll be having a quiet at home party with just the family tomorrow.  I've just finished making some cupcakes that I will decorate in the morning and we'll enjoy those after presents!  We're doing a Thomas the Tank Engine theme, so we have the plates and tablecloth all ready to go, and the cupcakes will be blue.

Staying with that train theme, I made him this card, using the sketch from Mojo Monday this week.

I stayed pretty much with the sketch, but I really wanted the #2 on there for him, so I had to add an extra circle medallion.

I used Brilliant Blue cardstock, patterned paper and sparkle paper from my scrap pile.  I colored the train with general markers and the number 2 has some Glaze and Glitter.  I added my pinking circle Nesties, as I thought they were a little more "boyish" than scallops...  I also used my pinking scissors on the bottom border rather than scallops.

Here's the sketch:

Thanks for stopping by!

Mojo Monday #107 - Mom's Entry

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Monday, October 12, 2009 27 stamps of approval
Hello again from the beach! Mom loved this weeks Mojo sketch as well and wanted to make a card of her own. Since she doesn't have a blog or online gallery, I will post it here for her and hope that the Mojo Royalty will allow her to enter the contest.

I hope you enjoy her card this week as well!

Stamptacular OCTOBER Bonus Fun!
I have gone through my collection... although it grows and grows, almost daily!... and want to tell you which stamp is my favorite. Usually my favorite stamp is the one I just got, even if I haven't used it yet... but I thought I should look for the stamp that I use most often... the one that I think is most "me", if you know what I mean..

So, I have decided that my favorite stamp is this one...:
valentini
This is Valentini, by Stamping Bella... I've used this stamp alot and here's why...

1. I love anything Martini... from the drink to the image. The shape of a martini glass is just cool, and you can put so much awesome stuff in it! And a good martini, mixed well and enjoyed with friends is the best!
2. This image is so much fun to color! I've done it in red and pink and purple.. it just lends itself to so many fun colors!
3. I love glitter, and this image just screams "glitter me!!!"
Here's just one card that I've made with this image
It's just an awesome image and if I had to choose a favorite, this would be it... although I did eye all of my cupcake stamps, too... but that's another post! LOL!
Thanks for joining us at Stamptacular for another Bonus Fun Day! Hope you're having a great time!
Have a wonderful day!

Mojo Monday #98

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Wednesday, August 05, 2009 1 stamps of approval
Hello Mojo Monday! (Ah, it's Wednesday, isn't it...?)

Awesome sketch this week, it looked pretty simple, until I sat down to work on it...This is what I came up with. Beautiful Day Fairy Ariana from Paper Make-Up stamps with her adorable little froggie! I just love this image and I was so excited to finally get her on a card, since I've had her for months!

But... I don't think this card quite does her justice. Ah well... it's a Mojo Monday sketch, even if my Mojo isn't flowing today!

DP from my stash, Green Galore cardstock from Stampin' Up!, fibers from my stash. Image colored with Copics and Sakura glitter pens. Peony Nestabilites.
