ATC Swaps - Theme: Body Parts

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Friday, July 03, 2015 0 stamps of approval
Hi all!  I thought I'd share a few photos from my latest crafting adventure.

I'm participating in an ATC Swap this month and the theme is "Body Parts"... hmm...

So, I have been wanting this particular Legs stamp set from Dylusions by Dyan Reaveley for a while now and this was the perfect excuse to go ahead and buy it!  I got it in the mail today and couldn't wait to ink it up!  With the help of my MISTI, I got great dark black images.

The idea in my head was a polaroid photo featuring the body parts.  A pack of flowers jumped into my cart at the craft store today, so I already had the colors in mind, that made picking the paper pretty easy.  I did start by stamping the legs on plain white cardstock, but thought it looked too bland, so I tried again using patterned paper.

Then, I decided that it needed a sentiment down in that blank white corner.  So, I stamped up a simple "Wow!" and cut it out to see what it looked like.  I liked it, so I actually stamped it directly onto the polaroid frame on each card.

Then, I decided since I had 8 great leg stamps to choose from that I would use a few of them on the set and mix up the colors a bit.  I ended up using 5 different legs.

Once all the legs were colored and the layers glued down, I thought they looked great.. but they might be missing a little something.  So I added a strip of bling to the top.

And DONE!  I'm really thrilled with this set of cards, and I hate to part with them for the swap!  But, I'm also excited to see what everyone else came up with for "Body Parts"!

Hope you enjoyed a short trip through my crafting process!
Thanks for stopping by!

Rainbow Thank Yous

Hi!

Here are a pair of simply cute cards that I made.

I don't think that I've mentioned yet, but I bought the MISTI a few months ago and have been having a great time playing with it!  It's about the only way I stamp now!  Check it out!

For these cards, I used the Work of Art stamp set and created a rainbow chevron design.  When you see how the MISTI works, you'll see how easy it is to line designs up like this one!  It's perfect every time!

I did one in purple...

...and another one in red.

Fun, quick, easy and cute!  I love these cards!

Hope you like them too!

You Brighten My Day

Hello Friends!

Just wanted to share a quick card that I made with some new stamps and washi tape.

Instead of coloring the lightbulb, I used a color swish from the Work of Art stamp set which added a nice glow.  Then I added another, longer color swish from the same set.  A few fun stars and a touch of washi and viola!  I really like how this turned out!

Fun Stampers Journey Kit of the Month - June 2015

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Thursday, July 02, 2015 0 stamps of approval
Hello!

So, my apologies that this post is late, there was a little confusion with the new catalog and new website and Kit of the Month subscriptions, so my kit was a bit late getting to me... but here it is for you to enjoy!

This month's kit has an extra special fun touch - using your own photos!!

How much fun!!

Here are all 4 cards that I've made so far:

The first card I did uses a photo that I took on my recent trip to Maui.  I absolutely adore the cute sunglass element that was included in the kit!

The second card I did uses a photo that I love of my little guy from a month or so ago.  He was blowing me kisses over a hot dog at Costco!  LOL!  Even though the elements that came with the kit were pink, I think they still look great with the photo of my boy!  Pink for Love, right?

This third card doesn't use a photo, but the sentiment is so much fun!  The circle piercing was pre-done for me, making this card so easy to put together!  This one uses 2 of the new colors of Silk from the new catalog - Pink Bubble Gum and Cool Pool Silk (although, I couldn't order the Cool Pool Silk because it sold out so fast, but I had something close that I used until I get my next order placed.)

Here's the last card, so glittery and sparkley and fun!  Lots of Journey Glaze on this one and I love the great new embossing folder!  The embossing and piercing were both pre-done for me!

Another month of FUN cards using the Fun Stampers Journey Kit of the Month!
