This weeks challenge is brought to you by:
Our theme for you is "Back In Time"
Create a project that replicates "The Good Old Days". This could be something that looks vintage or includes something that just reminds you of something from many years ago when you see it.
I thought that I might struggle with this one, as "Vintage" isn't really my style. So, I went with more of something that reminds me of years ago.
Some of you may know that I was a "Band Nerd" in school. I LOVED band and I was pretty good, if I say so myself! I auditioned for a part in DODDS All-Germany, which was a concert for the best musicians in the Military schools in Germany. It was quite an honor to be accepted for that. I also auditioned and was accepted to play with the Air Force and Army bands for special concerts involving Military students. I even had the opportunity to meet my favorite composer, Vaclav Nelhybel, who composed many of my favorite musical pieces. I have a picture of me with him somewhere. Here's a funny story for you! During that concert, I was seated directly in front of Mr. Nelhybel, at eye level. I even had a small solo! At the end of the concert, he was presented with a huge bouquet of flowers as a thank you for his participation. So, after we all left the stage and went to find our friends and family, Mr. Nelhybel came up to me, with his huge bouquet of flowers and gave them to me! I was right in his line of sight for the whole concert, so he chose me! Pretty darn cool, huh?
Needless to say, for many years in my youth, music was very important to me. It still is, and I do still have my saxophone, although I'm not sure I remember the keys anymore!
All of that brings me to my card today. I chose to use some old sheet music that I had. While in Germany, I came across a stash of some very old German sheet music, I can't remember where, maybe a yard sale or something. I suppose at one point I could have read the notes, if not the titles! Now, though, it's just really pretty paper! I chose a piece of music out of that huge stash to create this card. I also chose to use Moody for Art as my image, thinking that she looks like she could be carrying rolls of sheet music to practice.
I hope you like my card, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.
The sentiment says "Dance to the beat of your own Drum"
