Karen's Doodles Kids Challenge #5

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Friday, May 07, 2010 1 stamps of approval
This weeks challenge at Karen's Doodles Kids is to create a Teacher Appreciate card for a special teacher in your life.  Emily has 4 teachers in her preschool class, so I need to make more (quickly!) but this one is for one of her teachers, who are all so nice to all of us!

I followed the recipe at Cupcake Craft Challenges for this card:
3 papers, 3 ribbons, 3 flowers

Here's My Card:

In my thoughts

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Wednesday, May 05, 2010 0 stamps of approval
Another simple card I got done today.

I didn't make this for any special challenge, or any special occasion, I just thought it is always nice to have a "Thinking of You" card on hand in case I need it.  This image is so fun!  I love the puppy... and the girl blowing bubbles, makes me think that maybe she is sitting there on that bench, thinking of someone special... so I thought it went well with the sentiment.

I hope you like it :o)

Hawaiian Wedding

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Wednesday, May 05, 2010 6 stamps of approval
Hubby has a coworker who just "ran" off to Hawaii to get married and will be having a reception for those of us who weren't special enough to join them... ... at the end of the month.  I can't complain, we did the same thing to all of our friends!  Although, we didn't run off to Hawaii, we just had a very small wedding in Seattle with only family in attendance and a reception a few months later for all of our friends.

Anyway... I had quite a few wedding cards already made up, but he didn't like ANY of them!  He wanted something specifically Hawaii-ish for them.  I also had quite a few wedding images to choose from, and he liked this one best.  Kudos to Karen Doodle's - you've pleased a darn picky guy!

This image was a joy to color, although I struggled with the dress... how exactly DO you color a white dress on white paper without white markers?  It needed something, so I added a little pink and green, even though that's not a "traditional" wedding gown.  So, add some Hawaii stickers and fun, funky, tropical paper and viola!  You have a cute, fun Hawaiian Wedding card!

I hope you like it, and I hope the Bride & Groom like it as well!

Can't pass up a challenge, now can I?
Little Red Wagon: Pink & Green
Pollycraft: Here Comes the Sun (it's sunny in Hawaii, right??)
Oh, Alice: Little People (those are kids dancing in the image, aren't they cute?)

the Inside Out challenge at KL Stampin' and Scrappin

Which, I guess in looks a little square... but... wait for it...
Now it's an octagon!  :o)  With a square base!  Hey, I tried!

SSC $56 - Sew Special!

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Sunday, April 25, 2010 3 stamps of approval

Our challenge for you this week is called "Sew Special"!  We want to see stitches - either real or faux, however much or little you like!

Our sponsor this week is Simon Says Stamp!
They are generously offering our random winner:
PRIZE: $25 Gift Certificate plus FREE shipping!

This week I had an idea in my head and it worked out pretty well, for the most part.  I really wanted to crank up my sewing machine and put real zigzag stitching all over this card... but I realized at the last minute that I didn't have any dark brown thread!  Sigh... oh well, I had some rub-on stitches that were close in color to what I wanted, so they will have to do!  I hope you like it, and I hope it isnpires you to Sew Something Special this week, too!
