Cheer Up Buttercup!

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Saturday, June 20, 2015 3 stamps of approval

Today's new challenge at Lil' Patch of Crafty Friends has 3 amazing sponsors with great prizes for you!

** Sponsor 1 **

** Sponsor 2 **

** Sponsor 3 **

Our theme is Anything Goes - so get crafting!

For my card, I've use an image from Enchanted Design Studio (via etsy) called "Hooty Love"

I had a bit of luck on my side with this one!  I had printed it out and taken it with me to a stamping class.  I usually have a bit of free time at class, so I thought I could get it colored while there.  I colored it all up and brought it home, but I had no idea what papers or sentiment or embellishments that I wanted to use!!  The luck comes in when I came across this patterned paper that matched my coloring perfectly!  Then, I found the sentiment among my stamps and thought it was perfect!  It's a simple layout, but I love how the added black makes the image and sentiment pop and the twine adds a touch of whimsy.  I hope you like this card as much as I do!

Come join in on our challenge, I'd love to see your creations and I hope you win a great prize from on of our generous sponsors!

Hugs,
Dee

Fun Stampers Journey - May Kit of the Month

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Thursday, May 28, 2015 2 stamps of approval
Hi!  It's Kit-of-the-Month Time! Yay!!

This month's Fun Stampers Journey kit from Kristy's Bloomin' Journey features a beautiful flower stamp set that is just a dream to color!

Here are the 4 cards that I made using the supplies provided in the kit and my favorite adhesive.

For the first card, I used Bronze Silk from Fun Stampers Journey instead of gold, because well... I don't have gold - yet.  :)  I love the simplicity of this card!

This second card, I only partially colored the flowers, because I was looking for a more watercolored effect.  Well, I didn't quite get that effect, but I like how it turned out!  I added a mat of black cardstock from my stash to this one, just to give a bit of a frame around the white focal image.

This one turned out beautifully, I think!  Again, bronze silk instead of gold.  I might have gotten a little too happy with the Confetti Sparkle on the flowers, but I love the way they shimmer in the light!

For the fourth card, I was a little more careful with the Confetti Sparkle!  Again, I just colored bits of the flowers, I thought it might be a bit overpowering if I colored them completely.  For this one, I added a gold shimmer spray that I had in my stash.. I need to get some Gold Silk from Fun Stampers Journey soon, though!

As I was driving home from my daughters softball practice tonight, I had an idea for another card I want to make with this stamp set... now I just need to find the time to do it and hope that the idea in my head translates to the real thing!

Thanks for visiting this month!  If you haven't signed up for your Kit-of-the-Month yet, I encourage you to visit Kristy's Bloomin' Journey and get signed up - you won't regret it!

Have fun stamping, friends!

Hugs,
Dee

Fun Stampers Journey April Kit of the Month

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 0 stamps of approval
Hi all!!

Here are the cards that I've created using this months Kit from Fun Stampers Journey.  I am really enjoying these kits and I look forward to receiving the new one every month!

This month's kit features a couple of super cute kiddos ready to go splashing in some puddles!  There are also stamps for a fluffy cloud and a bundle of raindrops which are perfect for those us living in rainy Washington State!  The sentiments are wonderful as well!  "Hello Sunshine" adding a sunny lining to the rainy clouds and the "You are my sunshine when skies are gray" fits the stamps just right!

Here are the 4 cards that I made using the detailed instructions that came with all of the precut papers and embellishments.

This is the first card that I made from the kit.  I love the backgrounds that are created with the included stamps.  The sentiment is fun and colorful.

The second card uses such bright, happy colors!  I also love the sequin "raindrops" dancing around the sweet girls umbrella.

The third card has such a fun design, it just makes me smile!  All of those falling umbrellas and the sweet sentiment are sure to cheer anyone up!

This last card features the sweet boy stamp, ready to float his boat in a big puddle.  This one has a great layout that adds a fun and sassy feel to the funky colors.

I love how each of these cards turned out.  Even though they are following the directions included in the kit, they still feel like cards made by me.

I can't wait to see the May KOTM.. it should be here soon!

Go visit Kristy's Bloomin' Journey to sign up for your own KOTM - if you love this April Kit, you only have a few more days to have it delivered to your door!

Have Fun!
Dee

Having a Ruff Day?

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Thursday, April 02, 2015 3 stamps of approval
Hi there!

Here's a cute little card that I made using the new MFT stamps that I ordered last month.  I really, really love stamps that have coordinating dies!!

I love the cute Birdie Brown - You Make My Tail Wag stamp set!  There are so many cute doggies to choose from and all of their adorable accessories, too!  I chose to use the hydrant of course, because it goes so well with the sentiment.  I added glaze to the hydrant, and to my cute puppies nose, as well.  I used the Stitched Speech Bubble die set to create my sentiment.  The papers all came from my stash of paper and I used my Blendabilities to color my doggie.

I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Little Red Wagon - Call The Vet √
Crafty Creations - Anything Goes

Thanks so much for stopping by!

My Favorite Things Birthday

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Monday, March 30, 2015 2 stamps of approval
Hello!

I've never entered a My Favorite Things color challenge before, but since I just ordered a bunch of new stamps and dies and stencils... I thought I should play along!  Not to mention, I've got an ever-growing wish list, so a prize from them would be amazing!  ;)

Here's a card that I made for their current color challenge:

I love the Ride The Wave stamp and dies that I ordered!  I'm hoping to come up with some great ideas on using them!

I always need birthday cards and I think this one will for a boy or a girl and even grown ups as well!

I'd also like to enter this card into the challenge over at Fresh Brewed Designs √- because I love her designs as well!!  The theme is The Sky's The Limit and I've used a balloon.

Thanks for checking in!  Wish me luck on the challenges!

Hugs,
Dee

Fun Stampers Journey - Kit of the Month

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Monday, March 30, 2015 1 stamps of approval
Hi there!!

It's been a busy month, but I did find time to finish up my Kit of the Month from Fun Stampers Journey!

I really enjoyed this kit and I know that I'll be able to use these stamps in more cards in the future.  The sentiments are great for many occasions and the bottles could even be dressed up as potion bottles for Halloween!  Or filled with hearts for Valentine's Day!  Such versatility in this set!

Here are my cards, each of them made following the directions and using the supplies that came with the kit.  After each photo, I'll write what supplies I added.

This is all of the cards in the kit.  I just love the fun color combos!

For this card, I colored the sand, shell and bottle stopper with Primacolor markers and added a product similar to Journey Glaze (I can't remember what mine is called) to the whole bottle.

This one is also colored with Prismacolor markers.  I used the same glaze for the "missing you" tag.  I also used some gold spritz to splatter the card.  The spritzing wasn't quite dramatic enough for me, so I pulled the spritzer out and used the end of the tube to dab the gold splats.

This bottle isn't completely covered with glaze, but there is an outline to add some dimension.  Again, Prismacolor markers for the color and there is a touch of gold splatter here, as well.  Love the little metal clip that came in the kit!

This last card has a glazed bottle with Prismacolor markers for coloring.  The kit included the little sequins that look like bubbles.

Please take a moment to go check out Kristy's website:

I'm sure you'll find lots of wonderful products and great ideas from this fun company!

Hugs,
Dee

Twinkle Toes

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Thursday, February 26, 2015 1 stamps of approval
Good afternoon, friends!

Today I am going to introduce you to something new that I have had a lot of fun playing with!

There is a pretty new stamp company out there called Fun Stampers Journey and my friend Kristy is a Journey Coach bringing ideas and products right to your door (with a little help from our friendly mailman!)

Please take a moment to go check out Kristy's website

I'm sure you'll find lots of wonderful products and great ideas from this fun company!

One of the fun things I've gotten to play with is their Kit of the Month.  When you sign up for the Kit of the Month, you will receive an awesome stamp set and all the paper, ribbon, and embellishments you will need to complete 4 cards.  You'll even receive step-by-step instructions on how to complete the cards!

Once you've finished the 4 cards that are included in the kit, you keep the stamp set and use it to create even more beautiful cards, scrapbook pages and ATC's using your own layouts and ideas.

It's really a lot of fun!

Here is the first kit that I received:

February Kit of the Month
from Fun Stampers Journey
"Twinkle Toes"

Aren't these cards just adorable!

The only things I had to add to the kit were ink, markers, adhesive and a touch of glitter!  Everything else was right there in the package that arrived on my doorstep!

Here is a close up of each of the 4 cards:

The cardstock included is a dream to stamp on and blends well with my markers.

The kit even included this cute clothespin and the twine, as well!

Each piece of cardstock was already pierced for me, so I didn't have to do all the piercing!

This gorgeous ribbon was included, too and it is very easy to work with!

I really had a lot of fun playing with the Kit of the Month for February and I'm looking forward to seeing what they release for March!

Have fun stamping, my friends!

Hugs,
Dee - Sprytebyrd

Wishing you A Monster Birthday

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Saturday, January 31, 2015 2 stamps of approval
Hiya!  I made a card this morning for a little boy who's turning 7.  He's a friend of my son's from school and he was having a party today.

So, a quick card for him just before the party!

His name starts with "R", and I was lucky enough to have this big "R" stamp hiding out in my craft room!  I added a few Lawn Fawn Monster Mash cuties and a googley eye to my colorful papers and viola!  All done!

I hope the little guy liked his card!

Challenge Time!

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Monday, January 12, 2015 3 stamps of approval
Hi there!

Here is an ATC (Artist Trading Card) that I made for my swap group on Facebook - Fun ATC Swappers.  The theme for December was "All That Glitters".

I used the "Stitched Stocking" stamp set from Stampin' Up! which I covered with Versamark ink and glitter embossing powder.  Add a bit of Holiday Cheer and some bling and baker's twine and it's good to go!

I'd like to enter this ATC into the current color scheme challenge at Wicked Wednesday

Also, the Winter Sparkle challenge at Sentimental Sundays

New Year - New Projects!

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Wednesday, January 07, 2015 0 stamps of approval
Happy New Year!!

I'm excited about new projects and lots of crafting fun this year!

I'm still participating in ATC Swaps and that's been keeping me busy over the past few months, I've just been bad about sharing things here.

The latest swap that I've joined is "Winter" hosted by Kristy's Bloomin' Journey.

I've used a wonderfully fun stamp set from Fun Stampers Journey called "Enjoy Coffee".  If you know me, you know I love, love, LOVE coffee and all things coffee related!  I have a crazy huge collection of coffee stamps, dies, ribbons, stickers, paper, etc... and whenever I see something new, I have to have it!  That was the case with this great stamp set!  As soon as I saw it in the catalog, I just knew I had to have it!  I've been so impressed with the stamps from Fun Stampers Journey and if you're looking for something new, please go check them out!
**If you are an ATC maker, you MUST go look at the catalog!  They have tons of stamps that are sized perfectly and specifically for ATC's!  They call them ATS (Artist Trading Stamps) and they are awesome!**

Here's the "Winter" ATC that I made for the swap using the Latte Cup from the stamp set.
I embossed the background paper to add a wintery feel, added the sparkly ribbon and row of fun snowmen which was cut from a stack of Christmas paper that I had.  I used a snowflake charm and a sentiment with one of my *many* favorite Christmas song titles.  Image is colored with Copics.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Happy Stamping!
Dee
