We have another fabulous sketch created by our very own, Dianna!  We also have some YUMMY new images just released at Whimsy Stamps!  My favorite kind of images - CUPCAKES!!

Dianna's sketch - pictured below - was so much fun to play with, and Melissa's images are SO much fun to color!  When they make it so easy this card practically made itself!!

Meljen's on Paper Craft Planet!

Hi there!!

We're having some FUN over at Paper Craft Planet in the Meljen's Designs group!  Are you a member, yet?  Come on over and join the party!  

Yesterday, we started a new weekly challenge, just for our PCP group called "Monday Freebie Challenge"  This couldn't be any simpler, just go grab your Monday Freebie from the Meljen's Designs blog, create a card using that freebie and publish it on our PCP page!  A random winner will be chosen on Sunday night to receive one free image from the Meljen's Store!

Tonight, we are having a Paper Craft Planet Par-Tay!!  We've got 2 challenges lined up for you, a chance to meet and greet the Design Team (yea, I'm over there, so come say hello!), a chance to meet and greet the Artist, Melissa, herself!!  And, of course, prizes!!

The party started at 8pm (Eastern) and will continue on until 10pm (Eastern), so you still have time to join the fun!  If you're a member of PCP, or our group, you have time to register and we'll be waiting for you with open arms!

Good Morning!  It's time for another fun challenge at Stamptacular Sunday!

This week's challenge is…

“STARS & STRIPES!”

For this weeks challenge you will create a card or project that includes both STARS and STRIPES! Can be any colors you choose but must be able to see stars and stripes! Oh…and don’t forget to stamp! After all, we don’t call this STAMPtacular for nothing!

The stripes on my Gorjuss Girl image inspired me for todays card!  I found this fun striped paper in my patterned paper pile and loved the colors, so I colored her tights to match!  Add in some coordinating star paper and a bit of star embossing with some striped twine and you've got Stars & Stripes!

I bet you thought I'd use Red, White and Blue for this challenge, didn't you?  Well, I wanted to!!  But I also wanted to show you that you can use any colors and any theme this week - just as long as you have both Stars & Stripes!

Hi there!  We're getting PATRIOTIC at Sentimental Sundays this week!  We want to see any projects made using the colors of YOUR flag!

As you know, I'm an American girl through and through!  Born and raised an Army Brat!  I was born in Germany, at an American hospital in Nuremberg, raised in Washington State and graduated high school back in Germany at Bad Krueznach American High School.  I love my country, wave my flag proudly and support our heroes at every opportunity!

This week, I've created a card that proudly displays our flags colors and design as well as showing my joy of being American!

For my card, I've gone with a Patriotic feel in honor of The 4th of July coming up very soon:

I've got star brads, and a tiny little "Celebrate" sentiment along with my starry papers.  I'm really quite pleased with this finished card!  :)  Apparently, my daughter Emily was also smitten with this card, because she wanted to make one "Exactly" like it!  And she did!  You can find it on her blog today as well!

Meljen's Designs Challenge #64

Summertime... and the livin' is easy

Fish are jumpin'... and the cotton is high

I love that song!  Every time we get blue skies and warm sunshine, this song pops into my head!

We've had beautiful weather here this past week, getting hot, but not yet "too" hot and the wind has finally died down.  It's been very pleasant!  Perfect "Grilling" weather, right?  Toss some patties on the grill and dress that burger with every topping your heart desires!  Yum!!  One of the best perks of summer!

This new image from Meljen's Designs was just screaming to be colored the second I printed it up!  It was so much fun, and even though I don't like onions and tomatoes, I had a lot of fun coloring them in on this fun image!

This card is for our new challenge this week - Stripes and/or Plaid - I've decided to use both Stripes and Plaid!  I was fortunate enough to find these 2 papers close together in my paper box and they looked good to me, so a card they made!  :)  I also decided to add a red brad to my olive, and I love how the whole card turned out!

The sentiment is one of the 3 (yes, THREE) Freebies that Melissa offered up this week, and they are still available if you haven't gotten them yet!  The Big Burger is one of the 4 new release images that are now available in the Meljen's corner at Whimsy Stamps.

Time for some FUN IN THE SUN with Stamptacular Sunday!!

For my card, I've dusted off some of my older stamps and papers and created this fun, bright summer card

I found the basic idea for this card while hopping around the blogosphere here, but I added lots of pretty pearls, 3 colors of twine (my new favorite accessory!) and I moved the sentiment from the side to the bottom.  It's a very close CASE of her card, just a little blinged out!

I've kept my card rather simple, as I seem to struggle so much with Masculine cards...

I found this fun arrow paper, and thought that it would be a neat combo with my spinner stamp set... I thought it needed a little "something" so I added the brads, then a short strip of suede ribbon... eh, still think it needs "something".....

Father's Day or Card for a Man

I've gone with a Father's Day theme and created a card for my kids to send to my Dad.  We very lovingly call my Dad "Grumpa" because he has this grumpy air about him sometimes (most of the time).... he always has!  My boyfriends in high school were terrified of him!  And, he was perfectly fine with that!  He doesn't smile for pictures and he has that stern, fatherly look down perfect!  He's really just a big ol' teddy bear, but we still call him "grumpy"!  -- Love You, Dad!

So, a perfect image for this card is Gruffy Little Gnome by Meljen's Designs (who happens to be our sponsor this week, as well!!) and I created my own sentiments to go with it.

Last Day of School

Oh, where did the year go??  Tomorrow is Emily's last day of Kindergarten and then I will officially be the parent of a 1st Grader!  Wow!!  She has grown up so fast!  

(I know I'll be totally blown away when my preschooler enters 1st grade in a few years!!)

Emily wanted to make a special shirt to wear to school on her last day, so she and I made this today...

And, I have been working on a small project for her teacher for about a week now - takes a long time for these bottlecap magnets to dry!

I'm sure her teacher will be able to use some cute little apple magnets!

I've seen so many good ideas for Teacher Gifts while browsing the blogosphere, but as always, time got away from me and this is all that I got done!  Maybe next year...
