Meljen's Inspiration!

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Monday, August 30, 2010 3 stamps of approval
It's still birthday week at Meljen's!

There is a ton of beautiful cards that I just posted on our challenge blog to inspire you, so you should really go check it out!  The Design Team has really gone all out to impress you!

Here's another card that I made using this week's new release images.  This time I chose "Ride Em Cowgirl", I just think she is adorable!  My Dad says that she looks like my Emily... yea, I can see that!  I think she may just be almost as rambunctious as my Emily, too, from the looks of it!

Here's Emily with Bradley in January.... What do you think?

I think Emily could have modeled for this image!!!  LOL!  This is one of the many things that I love about Meljen's Designs!  Her children images always make me think of my own babies :)

If you haven't had a chance to join our Birthday challenge, you still have just a little bit of time left!  Come on, join the party!

Also, today is the last day to get Meljen's images for 25% off at Whimsy Stamps!  Grab your wish list and start shopping!

This one also fits the following challenges:
Oh, Alice - Girly Theme
Christmas Stampin All Year Long - Anything but Christmas
Sew Many Challenges - Happy Birthday
Cute Card Thursday - Dieing for a Punch (no punches or die cuts here!)

Karen's Doodles #26

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Monday, August 30, 2010 2 stamps of approval
It's just another Manic Monday.... oh - wee - oh... I wish it was Sunday.... oh - wee - oh...

Hey - Monday isn't all THAT bad - it's a new day for a Karen's Doodles Challenge!!!

This week, as some of us welcome our babies back to school (my daughter starts school on Thursday, my son starts next week), we would like to send them off in style with a special Karen's Doodles Bookmark!

So, your challenge for this week is to create a

Back 2 School Bookmark

I decided to make one for my growing-way-too-fast Kindergartner, Emily!  I thought she could put this in her kindergarten workbook, so she never forgets what she's working on (wishful thinking?  maybe...)

Image: "Rosie Loves to Draw" - Karen's Doodles

You should play along!  I'd love to visit your blog and see your bookmarks!

Special books for a Special Little Girl

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Saturday, August 28, 2010 2 stamps of approval
My bestie local friend saw the book that I made for Emily HERE and asked me if I would make a few for her little girl who starts first grade next week.

Of course I said I would!!

So that's what I have been working on this past week!  I went to the W-store and stocked up on their $0.25 composition notebooks, found some cute school paper and a few styles of paper that I thought Grace would like (she's big into peace signs right now!) and I really had a lot of fun making these!

I added a ribbon bookmark to each one as well as a ribbon pen holder on the side that holds the book closed when the pen is in place.

Here they are - I think they turned out great!!

Image: "Penpal Mouse" by Meljen's

Image: "Change the World" set by Tiddly Inks

Image: "Woodland Fairy" by Meljens

Image: "Fuzzy Owl" by Meljen's

And, I even created a book for my bestie, Grace's Mom - who is a coffee fiend just like me!!

Anyone else need a book?  :o)

YeeHaw - It's my Birthday!!

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 3 stamps of approval
It's my birthday, it's my birthday!

I'm one of those really strange and very rare people that actually LOVES my birthday!  No matter how old I get, it's always a day I look forward to!

This year, my birthday falls on a Thursday and you know what that means, right??  I get a new Meljen's Challenge and New Releases on my birthday!!  YeeHaw!!!  And, did you SEE the new images??  They are so sweet!!  You really need to go hit up Whimsy Stamps and buy them all!!  Oh, and don't forget - they're all 25% off until the end of the month!!

This weeks challenge at Meljen's is all about BIRTHDAYS!!
(hehehe - guess who had access to the challenge calendar? muwahahahaha!)

Here's my birthday card featuring Billy the Cowboy Bear from this weeks new release pack

Isn't he just the cutest little bear you've ever seen??

The sentiment came from a set that I won at Sentimental Sundays a few weeks ago and I just love it!  It is just perfect for this image and this week's challenge!

I had a thin piece of wood that I thought would also be perfect and I think it looks great!!

And, of course, I had to use my i-Rock some more, so I added some little gold glam rocks along the bottom.  The stars were brads in a former life, but I popped off their little arms and foam dotted them up on the top.

I hope you like my card!!  I have another one to share, but I'll wait until the Tuesday inspiration post for that one!  It's pretty rockin' cool, though, if I might say so myself!!  Here's a hint - I used "Ride 'em Cowgirl" on that one!

Play along with us at Meljen's this week!  There are 3 Free digis to be won and I just wanna be able to hop to your blog and see what you've been up to!

I.AM.A.ROBOT.....

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 10 stamps of approval
Meljen's little boy images reminds me so much of my little guy!!  They are so fun to color and play with!!

Here's Robot Boy!

He's playing with the colors from this weeks challenge at Cupcake Craft Challenges and the sketch at Inspirational Card Sketches!

Go Team!

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 2 stamps of approval
No, I'm not talking about Team Edward and Team Jacob (although, for those that don't know, I'm Team Edward!!)

I had this image colored up and thought it would be fun to use today and I found the cutest paper and brads to go with it!  The card just kinda "fell" together, if you know what I mean!

I did use the sketch from The Pink Elephant for a little layout inspiration and I think it's just perfect!

Ooooh, those little white pearls?  My i-Rock again!!  Hehehe!

Party Like a Rock Star!

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 3 stamps of approval
I made this card for the Anyone for Anya challenge - they're celebrating their birthday this week - and so am I!! So, this is my birthday card to me!!

I really love how this one turned out, I think it's my favorite!! I cut the nestie shape out of the patterned paper, and mounted it on foam dots above the sentiment, making the sentiment recessed. I also added some sponging around the sentiment and I think I maybe should have sponged a little around the image, as well... I had a ton of fun coloring her up!! I just love her sparkly hair and eyeshadow! All dressed up and ready to party!  Oh, and notice all those amazing rhinestones??  I got an i-Rock for my birthday (from my in-laws) and I LOVE it!!  It's so much fun!!!

Happy Birthday to Anyone For Anya - looking forward to another fun-filled year of awesome challenges!!

There's a whole lot of pink going on here!

The challenge this week at Lil' Lolita is Roses - so, I've even got some pink roses!

I've been wanting to try the "out of bounds" Nestie technique for a while and I finally did it today!  It took some work, but I think it paid off, it's a pretty cool effect, huh?

Karen's Doodles #24

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Monday, August 16, 2010 5 stamps of approval
This week we're all about animals at Karen's Doodles Challenge Blog!

It was a hard choice of which animal to use today, since Karen has SO many wonderfully cute animal images!

Finally, I decided on Hang in there Possum - such a cute image!  I love the little babies!!

I used a tri-fold card template, so the circle flips open, then the rest of the card opens as normal.  The ribbon along the side is positioned so that the image circle can sit tucked just beneath it to hold it in place.

If you've got some time to hop around, you should really go check out what the rest of the Karen's Doodles team have done for you this week:

Don't forget!  There are prizes to be won!!  In order to win a prize, a Karen's Doodles image must be used!
  • 1st Place - 3 Digi stamps of your choice from Karen's Doodles and Card of the Week Blinkie, awarded to the best entry, voted by our team
  • 2nd Place Random Winner - 2 Digi stamps of your choice from Karen's Doodles
  • 3rd Place Random Winner - 1 Digi stamp of your choice from Karen's Doodles

Pretty simple challenge for you, me thinks... just create anything your little heart desires and add some buttons AND bows to it!

I've made a cute little notebook for my daughter, Emily.  She's always asking me for a piece of paper that she can doodle and scribble on, so now she has her very own little book, and a pink pen, too!

I hope you like my book!

I can't wait to see what you create for our challenge this week!  We have a wonderful sponsor,

Meljen's Inspiration!

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Monday, August 09, 2010 1 stamps of approval
Here's a card for you that you can also find on the Meljen's Designs DT blog today.

Tuesdays are our inspiration days on the blog and there is a TON of inspiration there today!  The team have certainly been busy playing with Melissa's amazing images!

I have 2 cards in todays post, my Cuddle Cloud Baby card which can be found here, and this one -

This card is being sent to my Hubby's Aunt in England.  He misses her and wanted to send her a thinking of you card, so I put this together.  I love how the 3 images fit so well together!  I chose really girly colors and went with a swirly pearly kind of feel for her, hoping to make her smile!

Cuddle Cloud Baby

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Monday, August 09, 2010 2 stamps of approval
Here's a card that I made for a friend of mine.

She called me and said that her cousin was having a baby and asked if I could make a card for her and of course, I said Sure!  She wanted a card that could be kept as a keepsake, so I made an Easel card using my circle and scallop circle Nesties.  Also, since baby was born just a little early, I was able to add all the special info before sending it out.

So here's what I made
(I've blurred out baby's name)

I hope the parents like it!

I'll toss this one in the hat at

SSC #71 - Snips & Snails

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Sunday, August 08, 2010 1 stamps of approval
Hi there!

Another Sunday is upon us and with it comes a fun challenge from Stamptacular Sunday!

This week we challenge you to make a card
Just For The Boys!

Our sponsor is the amazing My Favorite Things
who generously provided the team with some amazing gifts to use!

The winner of our challenge today will have a chance to shop at MFT with a $25 gift certificate!

I kept my card simple this week, thinking it would make a cute birthday card for a young boy.  With an almost 3 year old boy in my house, I suspect that I may be needing some boy birthday cards ready for parties and stuff!

and I added a cute sentiment inside

I used the "Good Knight" set available from MFT - which also includes a knight, fire-breathing dragon and many fun sentiments!  Such a fun set to play with!

I hope you have fun with our challenge this week!  I'll be popping by your blogs to see what you've done, so make it good!  LOL!

Hugs!

Miss Kellita in White

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Saturday, August 07, 2010 4 stamps of approval
Lil' Lolita is visiting wonderland this week at Oh, Alice!  Since I have a few Lil' Lolita stamps, and now a couple of digis, too, that I picked up this weekend in the limited release, I decided to play along!  Maybe I'll win a few more!!  :)
By the way - you still have a tiny bit of time to go grab some digi Lil' Lolita's at the Tickled Pink shop!

The challenge at Oh Alice is White Wonderland - everything but the image panel must be white... that's kinda hard for me!  I was eyeing my red rhinestones.. or those black pearls I just picked up would have been cute.. or some nice funky rock n' roll ribbon I have.. but NO!  Leave it alone and stick to white!  I think I did ok!  I found some white glittery paper which I used for my scalloped ovals, and I embossed more white to add dimension.. flipped over some light yellow flowers for their white backs and some pretty sheer white ribbon.

Other challenges for this card:
Sentimental Sundays - Switch it up (New Technique or Style) - new style: all white

Meljen's Challenge #19

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Wednesday, August 04, 2010 0 stamps of approval
It's Challenge Day at Meljen's!

And there's a new release to check out, too!  So Cute!!  As always, there are amazing images from the oh-so-talented, Melissa!

This week's challenge is Clean And Simple.... uh.. really?  I don't do clean and simple.. do I?  I like my rhinestones and my pearls and ribbons and schtuff!  So, as much as like the way this card turned out... I think it may still need "a little something"!

I used the new release "Professor Owl" image - he's so stinkin' C-ah-Uuute!

You can purchase him and the 4 other new release images now at Whimsy Stamps!

Play along, I can't wait to see your Clean and Simple creations!

Stamptacular Sunday #70

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Wednesday, August 04, 2010 1 stamps of approval
This is incredibly late!!

This week's challenge at Stamptacular Sunday is

Out of This World!

This is open to interpretation - meaning that anything at all that would not normally happen in this world is accepted... so if you make a card with a cat holding flowers or a dog playing with a turtle or a brother and sister getting along (just kidding!) we'll take it!  Of course, we'll also accept your fairies, robots, monsters, aliens, angels and more!

Here's my creation for you

Our Sponsors this week are Meljen's Designs and Di's Digital Downloads

I've used an image provided by Di on my card.  I was trying to give the idea of the puppy painting the space scene!  It's such a cute image!

Hope you like my card - sorry it's late, but you've still got time to enter our challenge!
