Meljen's Challenge #17

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 1 stamps of approval
It's EASEL time at Meljen's!

Along with another AMAZING release from the uber-talented Melissa (Sooo cute, go check it out!), we have a super fun challenge for you!  And, a pretty easy one, too, I think!  Easel cards are so popular, because they are so easy to make (really, they are!) and so striking when they're done!  I just LOVE that these cards can be displayed proudly on a shelf!

Here is my Easel card for you this week - using a new release image from Meljen's Designs "Cheery Cherries" (really, SO Stinkin' CUTE!)

I had a whole lot of fun making this card!  I was visiting my Mom and Dad for the weekend and got to play with all my Mom's stuff!  She just got some new CTMH papers and stamps, so I used those - I don't konw their names, but the paper was all cherry themed and the stamp is the hedgehog stamp of the month.  And I got to use her ribbons and flowers - the flowers were white and I just colored them to match my cherries with my Copics, then I punched some smaller flowers out of the patterned paper for the centers.

Well, that's all from me for now!  I hope you like my easel card and I look forward to seeing yours!

Hugs!

Meljen's Inspiration!

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Tuesday, July 20, 2010 0 stamps of approval
This week's challenge at Meljen's Designs is to create a TALL (or business size) card - or a LONG card, either way...

I went for Tall and I made a card for my Hubby's birthday, I hope he likes it!  I could have done more with it, flowers, rhinestones, bows, swirls and pearls and all that.. but, well.. he likes my cards a bit simpler.

I just love these new images from Meljen's!  Isn't this little mousie so cute?  I've written on the inside of the card "You've got the Write Stuff!"

I hope you find time to play along with us at Meljen's this week - I love visiting all of your blogs!!  And, of course, there's a prize of 3 free images up for grabs!!!

See you on Thursday with another fun challenge from Meljen's!!

KD Kids - Challenge #10

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Friday, July 16, 2010 0 stamps of approval
Good Morning and TGIF!!!

It's time for another fun KID challenge at Karen's Doodles Kids!!

Come on!  Grab your kids, give them some Karen's Doodles images and have some fun!
We would LOVE to see what they create!  And you, too!!

You've got 2 weeks to play and a prize to win, so - why not??

This week's challenge is to alter a household item... just as long as it's not a card!

So, here is the pen holder that I created for my craft desk!  I had fun with Ollie, coloring him up like a flamingo - since my accent color in my craft room is pink, he'll fit right in!  :o)

Emily had some fun with this challenge, too!  You can see her creation on her blog!

Another quick card that I made today.. inspired by the paper, knew immediately which stamp to use and added the "matching" (the color looks off in the photo) button.

Tuesday Morning Sketches is celebrating their birthday, and the challenge is to choose your favorite sketch I played along last week with THIS card using sketch #3
There's a big blog candy up for grabs if you play each week all month - so for week 2, I chose sketch #26

KID post!

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Wednesday, July 07, 2010 2 stamps of approval
I just wanted to share this adorable project that my kids did yesterday at Day Camp!

It's "Lost in Space" week, so they're learning about plantets and aliens and stuff... they made these super cute flying saucers - they just love them!  Emily actually slept with hers in bed with her last night!  And they're oh-so-simple to make!  I actually hung around and helped "teacher" with Emily and Bradley's because they looked like so much fun!

So here, they are... Bradley with his 3-eyed Green Alien and our friend, daycamp teacher and Bradley's soon-to-be preschol teacher, Miss Jonnelle.  Doesn't he look so happy??  Such a silly boy!
And here's Emily's Silver and Gold 1-eyed alien flying saucer.. (she's getting to that "hurry up and take the picture, Mom" age...)
...that landed on her Lincoln Log house... Alien Attack!!!
Ok, so she doesn't see the humor in my alien attack... oh well :)

Michelle's Card Drive

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Tuesday, July 06, 2010 4 stamps of approval
I made this card today for Michelle - some of you may have read about her accident on either her blog or the Spoonful of Sugar blog - reading about it just made me gasp!  It's amazing what can happen in a split second!  Big Hugs go out to Michelle for a speedy recovery!

Melissa of Meljen's Designs and Ann of Raindrop Echo Designs put together this amazing stamp set in honor of Michelle and they are giving it away for FREE at the Whimsy Stamps store.

I used this adorable image and one of the oh-so-perfect sentiments (on the inside) to make this card today.  I hope that it brings a smile to Michelle!

I played along with Tuesday Morning Sketches to make this card - I chose sketch #3 for this card

If you can, please make a card and send it off to Michelle.  You can find her address on the Spoonful of Sugar blog.  It would be so wonderful to just flood her mailbox with love from all of us!

SSC #66 - Put a HOLE in it!!

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Sunday, July 04, 2010 2 stamps of approval
Time for another fun challenge at Stamptacular Sunday!!

This week we are sponsored by

and they are offering up a $25 gift certificate to our lucky random winner!

MFT was kind enough to supply our Design Team with some amazing stamps to use on our challenge this week - Thank You very much, MFT!!!

I have chosen to use Coffee Flopsy!

Our challenge this week is "Aperture" - create a card or project with a HOLE in the middle!

Ok, truth be told??  I totally struggled with this one... I had an idea in mind, but it didn't work out, so this is what I came up with... I am my own worst critic, and trust me, I can be a really tough critic!!  I will just say that this card isn't bad, but it's not my best :o)

I hope you at least enjoy taking a looksie at Flopsy!!

I paper pieced Flopsy in 2 shades of chocolate and I glittered his coffee cup and his fluffy slippers.  Cut a hole out with my Nesties and used one of the sentiments that came in the Coffee Flopsy set. I thought the card needed "something" so I added some funky folded ribbon and a few roses... eh.. maybe you like it better than I do?

Tell ya what - go check out the rest of the team - they have some real beauties to share with you this week!!  :o)

Playing with Lil' Lolita!

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Thursday, July 01, 2010 7 stamps of approval
I am totally loving these new Lil' Lolita stamps!

Today I got a chance to play with Evie, she's just so cute and funky in her little kitten costume!  And I thought this sentiment was just perfect for her!!  (psst - Evie is 10% off right now!!!)

This card is for the Lil' Lolita challenge, which is to use the color blue - I opted for a whole ton of teal!  - and also uses the sketch from Friday Sketchers.
