Wish List Wednesday

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 4 stamps of approval
I'm glad you enjoyed my Wish List Wednesday debut last week!  I really loved all of your comments!

Here's a few things I've found this week that I think it will be hard to live without!

1.  I need an awesome thumb drive to store all my digi images on!

2.  Ok, I hate cereal boxes... so I have little plastic jugs to store our cereal in.. it works - but these are COOL!
(have you figured out that my kitchen color is red?)
3.  Probably the very last thing on earth that I could need is yet another paper trimmer... but REALLY!  This one has a speaker, so you can plug in your Mp3 player and rock out while you craft!  Tell me, how AWESOME is that??

4.  The CAR.... don't really need to say more, do I? The Nissan Cube is super cute and fun!  (although Hubby hates it!)
5.  Flower by Kenzo - one of my perfumes, I'm out... :(
6. Here's a wish for my sweet friend, Callie!  I wish for her to win a contest that she wishes to win!
Can you help out??
All you have to do is click HERE, find a photo of a very handsome young man named RYEN, click his name and click VOTE!  You can vote as many times as you like, so go ahead and vote - Over and over and over again!
The contest ends at midnight tonight - so if you're reading this, please take a minute to vote?
Thanks!!!

Wish List Wednesday

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 4 stamps of approval
I don't have a lot going on in the middle of the week to blog about... So, I'm going to try to start a weekly "blogisode" called Wish List Wednesday!
This is where I will post 5 (or so) things that I have seen in my internet/tv/shopping travels that I really think I should have!!  Not that I need them, or will ever get them, but they're COOL!
Just thought my readers would enjoy a little more of a peek into my crazy mind to see what really goes on in there!
This is totally random (like many things in my mind!) - it may be crafty stuff, baking stuff, clothes, kid stuff... whatever happens to catch my eye that week!
This week, for example, I've been in such a big baking and cake decorating mood, that I've been browsing lots of baking websites -
anyway this is what I've come up with for Wish List Wednesday!
Enjoy!
Oooh, I LOVE the bright red and the GLASS bowl - awesome!
Have you SEEN the Cricut Cake??  Forget the original Cricut - I want this one!
Oh - cuteness!  What more is there to say??
Anyone want to send me flowers?  The Happy Hour collection at 1-800-Flowers would be perfect for me!

This has been on my wish list FOR-EVER and will probably stay right there - this is a Tag Heuer watch, one of those "If you have to ask the price, you can't afford it" watches... but it's pretty, isn't it??

What's on YOUR Wish List this Wednesday?

Happy Birthday, Dad!

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Friday, March 19, 2010 5 stamps of approval
My Daddy, My Hero, My Friend

Sorry that we can't be with you today - we miss you and are thinking of you!  We'll see you in just a few weeks!!

So, Dad challenged me (Yes, he gave me a card challenge!) to make a birthday card for him this year, that is better than the one I made him last year... hmmm.. you know, I've learned a lot in the past year and I've got my awesome Copics now... but I dunno, I still think that last years card was pretty darn awesome and it's going to be a hard one to beat!  Sooo.. let me know what you think - here's Dad's birthday card circa 2009:
And now onto this years card...
My Dad loves his truck and he loved the truck he had before that and he loved the truck he had before that... you get the idea, right?  I thought about making the truck gray, like Dad's Titan... but a blue truck just looked cooler on the card!

Hope this card makes you smile, Dad!!

My wonderfully talented new friend, Melissa passed this award on to me today and truly made me smile :)
award.beautiful blogger
Here's what she said about me:
Dee Morris, also for sweet compliments and confidence she’s shown in helping point me toward sponsorship, so I can help share my digis with more people. Also for her interaction with me and our little exchanges we’ve shared in email and on Facebook. Thank you Dee!
Isn't she the sweetest?
Thanks so much Melissa!!

Part of receiving the award is sharing it with 7 other people, and then sharing 7 things about yourself...

The 7 Beautiful Bloggers that I would like to share this with are:

My Sweet Friend, Callie - who never fails to make me laugh and smile!  Callie has always been so warm and welcoming.  She and I were both chosen to be part of the I Love Digi design team and we have partnered up to lead the Karen's Doodles Kids challenge blog, as well!  She is such a supportive and inspirational friend!  I Loves Ya, Callie!!
Jessica - who is such a fun gal!!  I just had the chance to meet her near her hometown and she took me to her favorite stamping shops and we enjoyed a nice cup of coffee on such a pretty day! I'm so glad we got a chance to meet and I look forward to hanging out with you again, soon!  Big hugs to you, Sweetie!
Priscilla - our Stamptacular Sunday Queen Bee!  With all that she has had going on this past year, she has always remained supportive and organized for her team and friends!  I have been with Priscilla on the design team for a year now and I am so honored to have her as a friend!
Heather - another wonderfully talented artist, stamper and friend.  Heather has created an online shop of digi images that are so fun and easy to use and I am so happy for her success!  Heather is always there with a smile and a kind word on a rough day!  She is so inspiring and I love her tons!
Carisa - who also keeps me smiling and inspires me to create!  She has a collection of Greeting Farm stamps that I am so envious of and I really wish we lived closer!  Carisa is an awesome chick and I love being able to chat with her about stamping, kids and life in general!
Lisa - another beautiful blogger friend that I have actually had the chance to meet in person!  Lisa is such a joy!  She's always so positive and fun!  I love chatting with her on Yahoo, although we haven't had time for a while!  And I am hoping that I will have a chance to meet up with her when she visits WA again this year!
And lastly - my favorite Beautiful Blogger,
Emily - my sweet, beautiful daughter!  I love being able to craft and blog with my daughter!  She's so funny and makes me laugh every time we sit down to write a blog post together!  I hope her blog makes you laugh, too!

And now for 7 things about me...

1. The 3 C's - Chocolate, Coffee, Cupcakes - need I say more?
2. I love to listen to audiobooks!  The longer the better!  I especially love anything by Nicholas Sparks, Nicholas Evans or Jodi Piccoult
3. I'm an Army brat.  I'm very proud of my country and every solder who has, is or will defend our freedom.
4. Other than card-making, I've also done some beadwork, sewing, quilting, cross-stitching and knitting.
5.  I don't like onions, peppers, tomatoes or mushrooms.
6.  I love all kinds of music, from Rascal Flatts to Metallica to The Beastie Boys to Lady Gaga
7.  I would love to be a C.S.I.

There you have it... a few things about me that you might not have known... I tried to think of things that might be new to some of you!

Enjoy your award, girls!  Thank you for all the inspiration and laughs!  What would I do without you?

Hugs!!!

Puppy Power!

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Friday, March 12, 2010 1 stamps of approval
Who can resist the face of a cute little puppy?

Not us, that's for sure!!

Today we adopted this little darling from the local Humane Society - He's an 8 week old Chihuahua/Jack Russell Terrier mix and he is just a little sweetheart!  He loves to cuddle and has spent the entire evening on either my lap or Iain's lap!  Emily and Bradley just love him to bits, but they have to get use to him being so much smaller than Jasmine (our 8 year old Aussie Shepard mix)

We've named him "Perry"

Here's some pictures to make you go "Aaaaawww!"  Enjoy!

I've been having some fun playing with my Karen's Doodles!  And, there are new Karen's Doodles challenges blogs up now!  There's one for the US, the UK, Scandinavia and the Netherlands!  So, why not play along, right?  You are allowed to enter any country challenge no matter where you live!  So this card fits into the UK challenge - where the theme is ANYTHING GOES!  Although I'm not entering it into the challenge - you'll see why in just a few days!  Just wanted to share it with you!

By the way - the cute little fastenator staple says "FUN" - but you can't read it in the photo :)

Bee Happy!

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Thursday, March 11, 2010 2 stamps of approval
There's an awesome new digi artist out there... have you met her?  Her name is Melissa, but she goes by meljen and her designs are just the cutest!  You may have seen the Thank You card that I made earlier this week, I thought that little girl looked a lot like my sweet Emily!  There's also a little boy puddle jumping that makes me think of my little Bradley!  And there's an awesome Frog Prince that's so fun to color!  And a fishing kitty cat, who even though I'm not a cat person, is so much fun!  And then there's this cute, cute little bumble bee!  Isn't he the sweetest!  If you haven't visited Melissa's blog or her digi shop, you must!  Go, go now and have fun!

This card wasn't made for any special challenge - though I will have a look around and see if I can find some that it will fit.  I just made it because I wanted to play with Melissa's images and I wanted to send her a card to put in the gallery on her blog!  Hehehe :)  I've also been wanting to try this "recessed window" technique for a while, and thought that this image would be good for it.

Here are some challenges I found for this cutie!

Here's a close up where you can kinda see the recessed window..

A Very Special Thank You

Designed by Sprytebyrd on Tuesday, March 09, 2010 6 stamps of approval
This card is for the surgeon who helped us at the hospital last weekend with Emily.  For those that don't know, she had appendicitis and we had to quickly get her into surgery to have her appendix removed.  For a 5 year old who has never had any health concerns other than a cold, this was a lot to take in!  She was very brave and is recovering amazingly well.  She has a follow up appointment with the surgeon tomorrow afternoon and I wanted to make him a card to thank him.  He was very gentle with her and he explained everything to her and us before he did anything.  He was very friendly and compassionate and I really appreciate having him there to help us through all the decisions that had to be made.  It was a scary time for all of us and I'm thankful that we had such an understanding and caring Doctor by our side.
